When life gives you lemons…play with them!

The famous proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” has been reinvented into many other interpretations some alluding to salt, tequila, and even chocolate.

The proverb written to insight an optimistic attitude and achievements in the face of adversity alludes to the idea of one striving to have "a healthy mind in a healthy body".

Here at ‘alegria’ we have also reinvented this proverbial phrase into 'When life gives you lemons…play with them! because this month we are launching the alegria crochet lemons. The lemon is the fifth fruit to join the alegria play collection to inspire more pretend play fun to all the little ones out there. Most of all to inspire healthy eating habits via pretend play.

The lemon is really a fantastic fruit which actually can be used in so many ways in the household and contributes to many aspects of our health.

But aside from its contributions the lemon is simply a scrummy delicious fruit. I have chosen two of my daughter’s favorite receipts to share with you!

alegria’s design and company ethos are inspired by fair trading practices, promoting natural play, helping to make a positive contribution to children’s health eating habits via the familiarization of fruits and vegetables and contributing via Save the Children in Switzerland.

We hope this new alegria PLAY crochet toy becomes a favorite among our PLAY products and via alegria’s GIVE BACK policy we are able to provide some ‘lemon.aid’ to children in need.
